Jens Harr - Fixed Income Sales

One of these talented people is Jens Harr, who just entered a new position at Fearnley Securities within fixed income sales.

What triggered you to start working in Fearnley Securities? 

I was on my third year as a commodity broker, and I felt ready for new challenges. 
I heard of an opening as a sales and execution trader at Fearnley Securities that could lift my career, and I decided to pursue it. After two years as a sales and execution trader I just recently moved on to the fixed income sales desk. Now I interact directly with institutional fixed income portfolio managers globally and showing them trade flow and discuss investment ideas in the securities we trade and analyze.
 

What benefits do you see to be part of Fearnley?

We have a strong brand name in the market globally. We are a sector specific player, and there are several benefits to that. I can develop into becoming a specialist within our niche and go to the depths of the sectors we follow. It is a very competent environment, which enables me to further developing my skills.

There is a flat structure in the organization. The decisions are taken quickly. We are about 65 employees here in Oslo and I'm sitting on the same desk as the head of the department. I can ask, discuss and participate in decision making. It's important in a brokerage house to turn around quickly, understand the market and be up to date with relevant information from around the world.
